From the Bowhouse in St Monan’s, the Elias Quartet and friends perform Schubert’s Octet in F. It was written in Schubert’s late twenties and is similar to some of his other chamber music Schubert weaves in themes from his songs.

Folk Fun!

A light-hearted concert taking inspiration from folk music both ancient and modern. An eclectic programme from the festival musicians, including Scottish fiddler Donald Grant, returning to the Corbridge Chamber Music Festival by popular demand, and Spanish double-bassist Roberto Carrillo-Garcia, a former Royal Northern Sinfonia member, who trades his bass for a guitar for the evening.

A Musical Life in letters, pictures and programmes.

The Gould Piano Trio and Robert Plane recorded a CD of chamber music by Pamela Harrison last spring, and they perform two of these works at this year’s festival. Together with Timothy Phillips, the composer’s son, Robert Plane has assembled an exhibition of photos, letter, concert programmes and musical memorabilia celebrating the work of a pioneering woman composer.
