In June 2019 Robert made the world premiere recordings of concertos by Iain Hamilton, Ruth Gipps, Richard Walthew and an orchestration of John Ireland’s Fantasy Sonata for clarinet and strings with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. This was made possible by awards from Creative Scotland, RVW Trust, John Ireland Trust and RWCMD and the CD was released by Champs Hill Records in July 2020.

Huw Watkins composed a new work for Rob and the Gould Piano Trio, co-commissioned by Corbridge Chamber Music Festival, Swansea Festival, Three Choirs Festival and the Wigmore Hall, with further funds from the PRS Foundation and RVW Trust. They gave the premiere of ‘Four Fables’ at the Three Choirs Festival in Hereford on July 31st 2018 and it has already been performed ten times in the UK, with further performances planned both here and on tour in the USA in 2020 and beyond.

Rob’s disc of Hungarian works was released by Champs Hill Records in September 2017. Including Bartok Contrasts, Dohnanyi Sextet and the world premiere recording of ‘Chamber Folk Music’ by Tibor Serly, he is joined by members of the Gould Piano Trio, horn player Alec Frank-Gemmill and viola player David Adams.
